Camping In Kasol | How To Book A Camp | Best Campsites Locations

Kasol is the hotspot of the Kulu District in Himachal Pradesh, especially for the peoples of Delhi, Chandigarh, and nearby cities, because of the easy connectivity of roads.

Kasol is famous for lots of things, and one of them is camping. If you want to experience camping in the between Nature, then Kasol is the perfect location.

In this post i am going to tell you everything you need to know about camping in Kasol.

How To Book A Camp In Kasol

You have three options,

  • You can come here, and book a camp by yourself
  • Setup your own camp after the permission
  • Book camping packages and deals online

As there are so many campsites and service providers, so you don’t need to worry. You can easily find a good camp according to your budget after reaching here.

But if you are coming during Christmas and new year, then I will recommend you to book your camp online, because of the heavy rush.

Best Campsites Location In Kasol

Main Kasol

You can find many riverside campsites in the main Kasol. This is the perfect location if you want to enjoy different cafes, restaurants, and bakeries. The main Kasol area has everything to offer anyone could require. From the bus stand, you can reach here by 10 to 15 min of walk.

Camping in Mail Kasol
  • Distance From Kasol: 5 to 15 min of walk
  • How To Reach: From the Kasol bus stand you can walk till your camp.

Chalal

Nowadays, Kaosl gets very much commercialized, and as a result, there is so much noise and the crowd. If you want to avoid the crowd and noise, then Chalal will be the best nearby option. And because Chalal is just around 2 to 3 Km away so you will not feel like that you are far away from Kasol. You can easily commute between Kasol and Chalal within one hour of the hike.

Camping In Chalal

Chalal is not just surrounded by Nature; there are so many good cafes where you can enjoy. One such cafe is the freedom cafe, and if you are visiting Chalal, then you should definitely try freedom cafe.

  • Distance From Kasol: Around 2 to 3 Km
  • How To Reach: You have to hike for around 40 to 60 min.

Choj

After Chalal, Choj is the second nearest spot to Kasol to enjoy riverside camping. Choj is a beautiful small village just a few kilometers away from Kasol. The best part, Manikaran Sahib Gurudwara is just around 1 Km from Choj village. I have been to Choj, and I really love this place. You can find several campsites at the beginning of the village.

Kasol Kheerganga Trek
  • Distance From Kasol: Around 3 to 4 KM
  • How To Reach: You can easily hike to the village; just follow the road going toward Manikaran Gurugawara.

Grahan | Pulgi

If you want to enjoy some days in peace inside the real beauty of Nature, then Grahan is the place for you. Because of the easy connectivity Kasol, Chalal, and Choj gets flooded with the peoples. Camping in those locations is good, but if you are looking for a true beauty with no Commeselization, then you should visit Grahan Village.

From Kasol Grahan is around 8 to 10 Km, and you have to hike all the way to reach there. That’s why not everyone visits Grahan, the hike’s not soo much difficult, but yes, it’s enough to test your stamina.

Pulgi Village

From Grahan, if you hike 1 Km furthermore, then you will reach the Pulgi village, which is my one of the favorite location in the Parvati Valley. You can find serval campsite there.

  • Distance From Kasol: 8 to 10 KM
  • How To Reach: Hike till Grahan

Note: In Grahan, there is no mobile network, and carrying alcohol is not allowed.

Kheerganga

Kheerganga is a very well-known trek in the Parvati Valley, famous for its Hot Spring, beautiful landscape view, and stargazing. Camping in Kheerganga has a unique experience. I had been to Kheerganga, but unfortunately, I had to return back the same day, so I didn’t try camping there. The way to the Kheerganga passes through beautiful trails and waterfalls.

Camping In Kheerganga
  • Distance From Kasol: Around 30 to 32 Km
  • How To Reach: Take a cab or bus from Kasol for Barshaini. From there, you have to hike to Kheerganga.

How To Setup Your Own Tent

If you are going with your own tent then yes it’s possible to place your own tent, but you have to ask for permission from the Campsite owner. Not all campsite owners will allow you to place your own camp, but if you try, then you will definitely find a place.

The campsite owner can ask you for few bucks, and I don’t think this should be a problem for you, as this is their only way to make money.
